Q: Is there a statute of limitations on the employer’s initiation of charges under civil service?

A: Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 31, contains no such statute. Further, in a series of Boston police cases, the Civil Service Commission has generally rejected claims of prejudicial delay in bringing charges.
