Q: Does a gubernatorial
state of emergency trigger monetary aid?

A:
A gubernatorial state of emergency does not mean that the state will provide financial assistance to cities and towns affected by a disaster. There is no disaster fund available to the governor or the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. The Legislature, however, may choose to appropriate financial assistance due to a disaster.
