MMPA to collect FY10 compensation data
July 10, 2009Beginning in August, human resource professionals and municipal managers throughout the state will be able to go online to enter their fiscal 2010 compensation data.
The online database, which debuted last summer, is available to communities that are members of the Massachusetts Municipal Personnel Association.
The password-protected database contains data for 71 job titles, ranging from accountant to youth services director. The system, which can serve as a resource for communities doing comparative salary research, currently features the 2009 Benchmark Survey salary data from nearly 200 cities and towns.
Each MMPA member community has two user accounts. All accounts are authorized through the primary member in each community.
System features include:
• Salary information for each position
• Capsule descriptions of each position
• Cost-of-living adjustment data
• Search and sort capabilities
• Print and export capabilities
The MMPA held nine training sessions throughout the state during the past year to help members use the online system. Details about upcoming training sessions will be mailed to MMPA members.
The MMPA has created an advisory group of local officials who will offer feedback about the system and suggest changes.
