200 attend ATFC Annual Meeting

Two hundred local officials from across the state attended the Association of Town Finance Committees’ annual meeting on Nov. 3 in Westford.

Educational workshops were offered on the following topics: a new member seminar, revenue and expenditure forecasting, regionalizing services, energy cost-saving initiatives, a finance committee potpourri, the school building assistance program, and the Group Insurance Commission.

Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation President Michael Widmer opened the meeting with a discussion of the state’s fiscal outlook.

Administration and Finance Secretary Leslie Kirwan, the keynote speaker, focused on the state-local partnership and the state budget.
