The courses, designed for municipal employees interested in furthering their career in local government, will be offered in Barnstable and in Watertown.
Informational meetings will be held at Barnstable Town Hall on Friday, April 5, and the Watertown police station on Friday, April 12, both at 1 p.m.
Previously, the courses were held in Reading this year and in Natick the year before.
The program, taught by Suffolk University faculty, will meet on 25 Fridays during the school year, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants should expect six hours of homework each week in addition to the class time.
Tuition is $2,000.
Those who complete the course work will earn a Certificate in Local Government Leadership and Management as well as up to 12 graduate credit waivers that may be applied to the master’s in public administration program at Suffolk.
The Certificate in Local Government Leadership and Management program provides a solid grounding in public management. Certificate program courses are the same curriculum offered at the Boston campus of Suffolk University.
“The program is a high-quality academic offering that links contemporary public management theory with ‘real-world’ practice, providing a practical graduate education experience,” said MMA Executive Director Geoff Beckwith. “It is an excellent opportunity to provide a valuable critical learning experience for new and seasoned managers and other key employees.”
Applications are available at www.mma.org/certificate, and the application deadline is May 1.
