The Baker-Polito administration has launched the 2019 application process for the MassWorks grant program.

The program is open to all Massachusetts municipalities and public entities seeking support for public infrastructure improvement projects.

Complete information, including the 2019 program guidelines/RFR and application template, is available at www.mass.gov/service-details/massworks-infrastructure-grants.

Completed applications will be accepted electronically, via the online portal, between July 29 and Aug. 9.

The Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development will be holding conference call information sessions on June 5, 10-11 a.m., and June 12, 2-3 p.m. To participate, email massworks@mass.gov.

The competitive MassWorks infrastructure grant program provides the largest and most flexible source of capital funds to municipalities and other eligible public entities for public infrastructure projects that support and accelerate housing production, spur private development, and create jobs throughout Massachusetts. Since 2015, the Baker-Polito administration has awarded more than $358 million in MassWorks grants to support 177 projects in 128 communities.

Gov. Charlie Baker signed An Act Relative to Job Creation and Workforce Development in 2016 to reauthorize MassWorks and support $500 million in investments. The 2018 economic development legislation allocated an additional $250 million to the program.
