Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Municipal leaders and public water system operators interested in learning more about lead service line replacement funding and regulatory requirements can join a Feb. 26 webinar on the topic.
Hosted by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust, the webinar will focus on available lead service line replacement funding opportunities. It will also address the Lead and Copper Rule Improvements, which were finalized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in October 2024 and required drinking water systems across the country to identify and replace lead pipes within 10 years.
In particular, the training will provide an overview of the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and its 0% interest lead service line planning and construction loan programs — including eligibility, the application process, and loan forgiveness available to all eligible public water systems, as well as an overview of the new federal lead service line replacement requirements.
The webinar, which will run from 10 to 11 a.m., is open to owners and operators of public water systems in Massachusetts, town managers and administrators and others interested in these funding opportunities for their cities and towns.
Registration is required for the webinar, and people interested in attending can sign up here. More information about the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund’s Lead Service Line Replacement Program can be found on the state’s website. This training has been approved for one training credit hour for Massachusetts drinking water operators.
