Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Information sessions will be held this month in Littleton and Barnstable for the MMA and Suffolk University’s Certificate Program in Local Government Leadership and Management.
The graduate-level academic program provides a well-rounded understanding of public-sector management. Class topics include administrative strategies in local government, budgeting and financial management, and human resources management. Classes are taught by Suffolk faculty and held on Fridays from September through May.
By June of this year, approximately 300 local officials will have graduated from the program, which is a partnership between the MMA and Suffolk University’s Moakley Center for Public Management.
During the 2019-2020 academic year, the program will be held in Littleton and, for the fourth time, Barnstable – the 13th and 14th programs to be held since the program was launched in 2011.
Information sessions for prospective students will be held on Thursday, March 14, 3-4:30 p.m., at the Littleton Police Station (500 Great Road) and on March 22, 1-2:30 p.m., in the hearing room of Barnstable Town Hall (367 Main St., Hyannis).
Registration is not required for the information sessions.
