The town of Sandwich has an opening for a 40 hour per week Senior and Community Services Director. Position requires professional, supervisory, administrative, and social service work in developing and implementing programs and services to meet the needs of the community; advocates and educates the town and community regarding senior citizen issues and needs. Position develops and oversees a diverse range of programs for the department including but not limited to transportation services, social services, health services, financial services, educational and recreational programming and offers other programming as needed to provide for the needs of the community. Works cooperatively with other social service departments such as the Public Health Nursing Department, to provide the most effective and efficient services possible. Bachelor’s degree in social work, human services, sociology, gerontology or a related field with some business coursework; five years of progressive responsible professional experience in the field of human services including management and work with senior citizens, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
