Job Description

The Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the Town Planner and Community Planning Commission. Responsibilities include reviewing documents for accuracy, preparing correspondence and reports, maintaining calendars, and scheduling meetings. The role requires preparing and posting meeting notices and agendas, assembling materials, and attending all Commission meetings to take minutes in compliance with the Open Meeting Law. The assistant manages meeting logistics, including unlocking/locking the building, setting up rooms, and coordinating hybrid meeting technology.

The position also requires obtaining and maintaining Notary Public status to notarize official documents. Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional training in clerical or business practices, or two years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of office procedures and the ability to work effectively with staff, other departments, and the public are essential.
