The town of Shrewsbury is seeking an administrative professional to join the team within the Treasurer/Collector’s Office to fill the position of Administrative Assistant I. This is a 37.5 hour per week, weekday position from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Primary responsibilities include customer service, payroll, data entry and record keeping work supporting the operations of the Treasurer/Collector’s office, including verifying and recording financial and accounting data.

Candidates must have a high school diploma with three or more years of responsible administrative experience. Working knowledge of office practices and procedures, bookkeeping and accounting. Familiarity with municipal tax collection procedures. Ability to interact with the public and explain policies and procedures. Ability to maintain complete and accurate records and prepare reports. Ability to work effectively under time constraints to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Skill and accuracy in working with numbers and detail. Excellent organizational, computer, communication and customer service skills.
