The Town of Brookline is seeking an Administrative Assistant to prepare and issue applications and maintain related data for liquor licensing, package store, clubs, common victualer, inns, food vendors, parking lots, antiques, estate sales, auctions, yard sales, entertainment, theaters, inflammables, coin-operated amusement devices, zip car, food trucks and special event licenses. This position will provide customer service and will be responsible for applications and renewals under the jurisdiction of the Select Board. Will review all licensing applications for accuracy, including oversight of multi-departmental inspections; respond to inquiries from the public and provide information pertaining to licensing applications and services and directs complaints to appropriate personnel. Coordinates and prepares meetings, mailings, announcements and meeting agendas to town boards, commissions and committees.
H.S., associate’s degree preferred; plus three years of office experience; customer/municipal service and basic bookkeeping and/or accounting experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to work independently, organize time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. Starting salary $25.91 per hour plus generous benefits.
