The town of Tewksbury is seeking qualified candidates for the Administrative Assistant/Permit Technician position in the Building Department. Candidate performs administrative and clerical functions for the Building Commissioner and Inspectors and should have an associates’ degree in secretarial or business management or related field; five years’ experience in general office procedures, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred candidate should have working knowledge of municipal operations, relevant local bylaws, laws and regulations including land use permitting procedures and laws. Candidate should be certified as a Permit Technician through the ICC National Certification Program or the ability to be certified within 12 months of appointment. Preference given to candidates with experience in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Munis, People GIS Permitting Software and Access applications.
