Adult and Young Adult Services Librarian – Mattapoisett Free Public Library

The Mattapoisett Free Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, community-minded Adult and Young Adult Services Librarian. This role is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys connecting with patrons and developing innovative programming in a vibrant, coastal community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide reference and readers’ advisory for adults and teens.

• Plan and present engaging programs; foster relationships with local schools and community groups.

• Manage and maintain adult and young adult collections across multiple formats.

• Assist patrons with technology, digital resources, and research.

• Create promotional content for social media and the library website.

• Support circulation desk operations and general public service.

Qualifications:

• Required: MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program (or currently enrolled).

• Preferred: Public library experience and a background in adult/teen programming.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Full-time union position (35 hours/week), including some evenings and weekends.

• Pay Range: $30.63 – $33.44 per hour.

• Comprehensive benefits package (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and PTO) per town policy and Union contract.
