Adult and Young Adult Services Librarian – Mattapoisett Free Public Library
The Mattapoisett Free Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, community-minded Adult and Young Adult Services Librarian. This role is ideal for a creative professional who enjoys connecting with patrons and developing innovative programming in a vibrant, coastal community.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide reference and readers’ advisory for adults and teens.
Plan and present engaging programs; foster relationships with local schools and community groups.
Manage and maintain adult and young adult collections across multiple formats.
Assist patrons with technology, digital resources, and research.
Create promotional content for social media and the library website.
Support circulation desk operations and general public service.
Qualifications:
Required: MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program (or currently enrolled).
Preferred: Public library experience and a background in adult/teen programming.
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time union position (35 hours/week), including some evenings and weekends.
Pay Range: $30.63 – $33.44 per hour.
Comprehensive benefits package (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and PTO) per town policy and Union contract.
