The Animal Control Officer patrols the town handling all dog and other animal complaints and compliance issues, enforcing town bylaws and any other applicable laws or regulations; conducts investigations, prepares comprehensive complaint reports and maintains database cataloguing unlicensed or stray dogs; advises residents and others regarding applicable Animal Control laws; responsible for providing a safe environment for residents, protecting them against disease and uncontrolled or dangerous dogs or other animals, and determining if dogs, pets and other animals are a nuisance or duly licensed within the meaning of the law; and all other related work as required. Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working with animals. Starting hourly range for this full-time (37.5 hr/wk), benefited job is $29.18 to $34.29 per hour DOQ.
