The town of Lakeville is seeking an experienced Assessor. This position performs duties relating to complex technical work involved in appraising and examining all types of real property for assessment purposes to Mass Appraisal Standards using technical judgment and knowledge of state and local laws, regulations and guidelines and the policies of the Board of Assessors. Performs responsible fieldwork, valuation and adherence to BLA/DOR regulations, of substantial difficulty; all other related work as required.
Qualification include; a bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in business administration, finance, or a related field; a minimum of three to five years of related work experience with at least one to three years in a supervisory capacity, supplemented by training and experience in current principles of property assessment is preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must be certificated as Massachusetts Accredited Assessor (MAA); Residential Massachusetts Assessor (RMA) or Certified Massachusetts Assessor (CMA) issued by the Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers or able to become certified within two years. Must possess a valid Class D Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
Salary $70-$90k annually
