The Assessor’s Department of Littleton seeks qualified candidates for the full-time position of Assistant Assessor. Works under the policy direction of the Chief Assessor. Provides complex administrative, valuation, technical support, and clerical work to assist the Chief Assessor with municipal assessing activities. Conducts field inspections for residential properties. Measures buildings, inspect the interior of structures to gather all data to determine value. Photographs properties and maintains detailed field records of all properties.
Associate’s degree required in a business field. Massachusetts Accredited Assessor Certificate needed within three years of hire. Three to five years of assessing related experience plus one year of fieldwork or equivalent combination of experience and education. Knowledge of mapping procedures, appraisal techniques, and strong computer software skills is needed. Knowledge of Patriot Assessing software and MUNIS preferred.
Anticipated hiring range: is $60,567.03 to $63,646.00 annually (full salary range to $75,603).
