Essential Functions: Prints all aging reports, demand lists and warrant lists for all real estate, water, personal property and excise billings; prints end of the year accounts receivable reports.

Reconciles all monies received on a daily basis; reconciles monthly bank statements; obtains supportive documentation as required; inputs information into the computer; verifies balances; makes a listing of deposits by accounts; completes deposited funds form.

Accumulates, calculates, posts, balances, and reconciles data for specific accounts; identifies, traces, and otherwise resolves discrepancies with established procedures.

Works with taxpayers, banks, and mortgage services to verify or correct tax payment files.

Prepares detailed totals of all manually posted accounts receivable reports and balances.

Assist the Tax Collector in the process of fiscal year end accounting; works with Tax Collector and accountants to prepare financial reports and provides supportive information and data.

May travel to post office, bank, via car or other local buildings and companies.

High school diploma or equivalent, including or supplemented by business courses or secretarial training; three-plus years experience in bookkeeping; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in dealing with the public, Tax Collector regulations, and a college degree in a related field and or department certifications / licenses strongly preferred.
