Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
The Assistant Director will oversee all aspects of library services for adults including technical assistance, reference services, bibliographic instruction, collection development of adult materials and resources, and the development and implementation of adult programming.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working directly with the public and assisting them with all information needs. The ability to multitask and a willingness to perform hands-on library work are essential to the position.
This position has a typical workweek of 35 hours though additional hours may be required from time to time. One – two evening shift(s) per week and roughly one-two Saturdays a month is required along with attendance at special meetings and programs.

ALA-accredited MLS or MLIS preferred current MLS students and recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Two to three years of public library experience preferred.
Experience in reference services, including resources and techniques.
Comfort with emerging technologies.
Programming experience preferred.
$50,000 – $55,000 plus town benefits.
