The town of Littleton is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time 40 hour/week, benefits eligible Assistant Director position in the Parks, Recreation, and Community Education Department. Duties include responsibility for the coordination, oversight, and development of recreation and enrichment programs, special events, Long Lake Beach operations, facility scheduling, and staff supervision. This position also acts as the departmental leader in the Director’s absence, assists with budgeting and capital planning, and ensures staff certifications and safety standards are upheld.

Requirements for this position are a bachelor’s degree in education, Recreation, or related field; experience in developing and scheduling a variety of enrichment programs; experience in municipal government; one to three years’ experience in the recreation field including one year in a supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A current Certified Park and Recreation Professional certification from the National Recreation and Parks Association or ability to obtain certification with one year. A current Red Cross certification in CPR/AED and First Aid for professional rescuers. Other American Red Cross certifications such as Health and Safety Instructor are preferred. This position will be subject to a thorough background check including but not limited to passing a CORI and SORI, reference check, motor vehicle driving record check, and random drug/alcohol testing.
The anticipated hiring range for this position is $83,520.00/yr – $87,716.88/yr. This is an exempt position governed by the Personnel Bylaw and Employee Handbook.
