The town of Braintree is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Planning & Community Development to work at a technical/professional level in the preparation and presentation of all work products and assist the Director of Planning & Community Development with the operations of the Planning & Community Development Department.  The primary areas of focus include but are not limited to:  community development, economic development, long range comprehensive planning, zoning, subdivision control, site plan review, special permit analysis, drainage, housing, telecommunications and transportation.  A master’s degree in community planning/urban planning or in a related field with a minimum of five years’ experience in a planning position within a municipality, comparable state/federal agency or private corporation in which the position was directly related to and required the same skill set.  Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in community planning/urban planning or in a related field with a minimum of eight years’ experience in a planning position within a municipality, comparable state/federal agency or private corporation in which the position held was directly related to and required the same skill set.
