Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Under general direction, assists the Director of Public Health in planning, organizing and directing activities, program and staff of the city of Gardner (the “city”) Board of Health Department (the “Department”), including administration, finance, health information and development services, health promotions, sanitary inspections and animal control. Provides professional assistance and direction to department staff, acts on behalf of the Director during absences and performs related work as assigned by the director. Must possess a bachelor’s degree in life science, environment, public health or other related discipline. Have more than three years health inspector/sanitarian experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess or be eligible to obtain the following certifications: Lead Paint Determinator/Inspector, Soil Evaluator, Certified Pool Operator (C.P.O.), Food Protection Manager Certification or be a Registered Sanitarian. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
