The Assistant Finance Director assists the Finance Director/Town Accountant in planning, directing, coordinating and controlling all financial and accounting functions for the Town.
The town is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to provide skilled accounting and administrative work. The Assistant Finance Director is responsible for developing and maintaining financial records; assisting the Finance Director with the preparation on the annual operating and capital budgets; exercising budgetary controls and serving as the municipal expert in the MUNIS accounting system; preparing financial statements including statements and reports required by the Government Accounting Standards Board (GASB) and the Mass. Department of Revenue; and all other related work, as required. The position requires thorough knowledge of town government and municipal finance. The incumbent exercises independent judgment and performs the duties of the Finance Director in his/her absence.
