Grafton is accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant Finance Director. Essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, ensuring accuracy and completion of all required financial reports, completing annual reports on revenues and expenditures, assisting in managing the chart of accounts, monitoring departmental expenditures, and providing information to department heads regarding the status of accounts on a monthly basis. In the absence of the Finance Director, the Assistant would assume statutory powers and duties in accordance with MGL.

Qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, and five to seven years of related experience. Or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification and experience. This is a 35 hour per week position with a salary range of $68,686-$75,821, DOQ.

The successful applicant must be able to work independently to ensure that time sensitive projects are completed. Knowledge of the laws and methods pertaining to municipal finance and accounting as well as knowledge of the UMAS accounting system is required. The selected candidate must have strong record-keeping skills, and be a strong communicator.
