The town of Weymouth has a challenging opportunity for an Assistant Planner. Working under the administrative direction of the Director of Planning and Community Development and in accordance with State and local laws and regulations. Candidate will perform clerical functions for the department: create, post and distribute agendas; prepare and post notices; prepare informational packets; file and retrieve various documents; open and distribute incoming mail; compose routine correspondence in accordance with department policies and procedure. Will assist in the review of site plans, zoning permit applications to assure compliance with zoning requirements such as density, placement, and parking, coordinate community review of public and private development projects and in conducting field evaluations and assessments. In order to be considered, candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in urban planning/public administration, social sciences, construction management, real estate, public policy or related fields. Experience in plan review, zoning administration, building code issuance or a governmental setting is preferred. The salary range for this position is $55,069.14 to $67,871.11
