Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Education and Experience:
Doctorate (Ph.D.) in education preferred; 10 years of experience in public school administration and management. Preferred experience includes teaching and five-plus years of leadership experience at school or district level as a Principal, Department Head or Director.
Massachusetts Driver’s License
Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure as a Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO):
Supervises, evaluates, and supports 15 elementary Principals.
Supervises Summer School, SPACE Summer Program, and home-schooling students.
Oversees some of the special grants and programs.
Ensures quality programming within special education while acknowledging the need for efficient and cost-effective systems.
Collaborates with the school’s Business, Finance, and Planning Department to keep a firm account of monthly expenses.
Works in partnership with the Human Resources Department to ensure the Pupil Services Department is in regulatory personnel requirements.
Must be physically able to operate various automated office machines, a motor vehicle and exert a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Must be able to talk and hear. Must be able to communicate via telephone. Vision correctable to normal ranges.
