The town of Scituate seeks qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Superintendent of the Water Division.
Will be responsible for assisting in the provision of safe, sanitary drinking water in sufficient quantities to meet the personal, commercial, and fire-fighting needs of the community. Serves as primary contact person in receiving, investigating and responding to resident concerns regarding water distribution issues. Evaluates problem areas and determines corrective measures and priority status of any issues. Provides oversight to the installation and repair of water mains, water service, water gates, fire hydrants, water meters, valves and all related connections and fittings to ensure conformity to standard delivery and service requirements and regulatory standards.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental science or chemistry preferred. Minimum five years of experience in a public/municipal water system with at least three in a supervisory capacity. Grade 3 Certification of Water Distribution System Operator, or the ability to obtain within one year, is required.
This union position is compensated between $73,251 to $87,072 annually, DOE. Complete job description available on town of Scituate website.
