As a chief aide to the City Manager and Deputy City Manager, the Assistant to the City Manager for Community Relations serves as a liaison to the community, an on-the-streets representative of the City Manager’s Office and works directly with city departments to address emerging resident and business issues. This position is responsible for creating, managing, evaluating, and improving a wide variety of projects and initiatives with a focus on expanding outreach capacity and coordinating information flow with the community on key initiatives and large city infrastructure projects. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required. Strong communication and project management skills. Excellent organizational, planning, customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to learn complicated information quickly and demonstrate initiative and follow through. Computer proficiency required including use of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with leading and working with diverse working groups/teams required, and experience in community outreach and engagement in diverse environments highly desirable. A valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and personal motor vehicle are required. $95,448 – $107,927 + excellent benefits.
