Melrose Inspection Services seeks an energetic, customer-focused professional to support daily front-office operations. This role manages building, plumbing, gas, mechanical, electrical, and weights and measures permitting, provides guidance to residents and contractors, oversees FOIA requests, supports zoning compliance, and coordinates inspection scheduling.

We are looking for a highly organized, detail-driven team member who thrives in a service-oriented environment. Responsibilities include processing payroll and accounts payable/receivable in Munis, maintaining online permitting records, preparing reports and budget materials, and supervising four inspectional staff. Success requires strong administrative skills and working knowledge of construction trades, zoning laws, and municipal regulations.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree and technical experience in construction, plumbing, wiring, or related fields; three years of AP/AR experience. Excellent customer service, communication, and proficient computer skills. A valid driver’s license and ability to obtain the Massachusetts Certified Permit Technician credential within 12 months are required.
