The town of Southbridge is seeking a full-time Assistant Town Accountant. Under the direction of the Finance Director/Town Accountant, the Assistant Town Accountant helps maintain a complete set of accounting records and vendor information, perform accounts payable, cash receipts, fixed assets, purchasing duties and reports.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field preferred. Three to five years’ office and/or accounting experience; or an equivalent and relevant combination of education, and experience preferred. Successful completion of the Massachusetts Certified Government Accountant Program within three to five years of hire.
Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week with a salary range of $51,256 – $61,217.
