The town of Medfield is seeking an Assistant Town Administrator (ATA) to work under the supervision of the Town Administrator. The ATA will assist in coordinating all executive functions of the office including preparation of a comprehensive financial plan/budget and annual report. The candidate will ensure fiscal responsibility through best management practices; understand methods of program evaluation, fiscal management, and budgeting including capital budget preparation. Position works closely with all department heads to develop data and create effective performance management measurement systems. ATA is responsible for providing professional advice to town boards, committees, and commissions including the Personnel Board; researches, analyzes and recommends the development of town policies, as well as serving a liaison for town officials, employees, citizens, and the media. A bachelor’s degree in public administration or business management; three to five years experience in municipal government or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and expertise. Masters degree in public administration is highly desirable as well as experience in municipal management, strong communication, human resources, and financial planning skills. Salary range is $100,838 to $113,443 depending on experience and qualifications.
