Assistant Town Manager
The town of Sandwich, MA (population 19,330), is seeking an Assistant Town Manager to perform highly responsible professional work in providing administrative and supervisory assistance to the Town Manager in all areas of municipal management. Supervises several department heads. Provides project and program management, responds to inquiries and complaints, interacts with all departments and committees, and oversees all employees and functions in the absence of the Town Manager. Experience in supervising employees, budgeting and town government operations desired with computer proficiency and excellent communication and customer service skills required. Civic engagement experience and MCPPO certification and practical experience with state public construction and designer selection laws highly desirable. The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in public/business administration (master’s preferred) and five years progressively responsible public sector administrative and supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination. Position offers excellent benefits and a starting salary range of $90,000-$120,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
