The town of Nantucket, Massachusetts seeks qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Town Manager of Administration. The Assistant Town Manager of Administration is one of two Assistant Town Manager positions directly reporting to the Town Manager. The town of Nantucket is an island of pristine beauty 14 miles long and 3.5 miles wide, 30 miles out to sea, off the south coast of Cape Cod. The town has a year-round population of approximately 12,000 and seasonal population of over 50,000.
The Assistant Town Manager collaborates with the Town Manager to administer, coordinate, review and evaluate day-to-day operations, administration and management of town government, including policy development, personnel management and related activities. The Assistant Town Manager provides administrative management support to the Town Manager and oversight of all operational divisions.
The successful candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in public administration or equivalent field with at least five years of progressive public sector experience or a master’s in public administration with at least two years of progressive public sector experience or any equivalent combination. Demonstrated understanding of Massachusetts contract laws, collective bargaining, municipal finance, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills essential.
Full-time: Salary range $100,000 – $125,000
