Assistant Treasurer

The town of Westford Tax Collector-Treasurer’s office is seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates for a full-time Assistant Treasurer to perform payroll, banking, and collection processes in a busy and fast-paced environment.

This position requires experience with customer service, payroll processing, reconciliation, payroll taxes and quarterly reporting, familiarity with tax collection processing, banking, accounts payable and month end balancing. Must have demonstrated professionalism, strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and strong aptitude for numbers. Excellent organizational and record keeping skills, ability to meet deadlines and schedules for multiple priorities. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and have ability to become proficient in Munis (HRIS) and QuickBooks. Must be able to interpret and make appropriate decisions and exercise independent judgment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain patient under stressful situations and work effectively with a diverse range of customers and staff. Must be extremely accurate with posting numbers. Associate’s degree with three to five years’ experience in finance, payroll, accounting, or other related field with particular emphasis on automated financial systems and Windows-based software applications. Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the municipal sector a plus.
Pay Range: $35.14 – $43.66 (Annually $68,777 – $85,462) dependent on qualifications, experience and years of service.
