The town of Falmouth is currently recruiting for a full-time Assistant Zoning Enforcement Officer, which includes administrative, technical and inspection work related to enforcement of town zoning bylaws and other applicable regulations. Analysis and enforcement of provisions of town’s zoning bylaw; enforces regulations and requirements of special permits issued by the Zoning Board of Appeals, Historic Commission and the Planning Board. Inspects residential and commercial properties to ensure use requirements compliance. Confers with builders, architects, engineers, property owners and the general public regarding requirements, application of the zoning bylaw and other related matters. Performs site analysis in response to written complaints received by the Building Department, reports findings to Building Commissioner for his/her determination and upon receiving appropriate direction, returns to site and takes appropriate action. Educates and assists public in understanding content and purpose of zoning bylaw. Documents all field violations and compliance inspections and maintains records; all other related duties as required. High school graduation and four years experience in regulatory or enforcement field, associate’s degree in planning preferred, experience as a zoning regulatory board member preferred or a combination of education and experience. Must be available to attend evening meetings. Wage is 20.75 – $22.45/hr..
