Job Description

Brookline seeks an experienced Associate Town Counsel to join its Legal department, with a primary focus on labor and employment law. This position plays a key role in providing legal guidance to department heads, Human Resources, and senior leadership on a wide range of matters, including collective bargaining, disciplinary actions, grievances, arbitrations, and employment litigation. The successful candidate will also represent the Town before state and federal agencies, labor arbitrators, and in court.

Brookline offers a competitive starting salary of $120,223–$126,758 and a flexible hybrid work schedule. Qualifications:
Qualified applicants should hold a JD, be a member in good standing of the Massachusetts Bar, and have a minimum of five years of public sector labor and employment law experience. Strong knowledge of Chapter 150E, civil service law, and state and federal employment statutes is preferred, along with excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
