The city of Worcester’s Department of Administration and Finance seeks a Budget Director to manage a staff of three financial analysts and direct the development, administration and monitoring of department and city-wide annual operating and capital budgets. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Budget Director develops and implements budget and capital policies for both short and long range fiscal planning. This position executes key internal control procedures over operating and capital expenditures to ensure that they are in compliance with city budgets, policies and ordinances.
The successful application will have supervisory experience in a financial analysis and budgetary finance environment; experience with capital financing and debt structure; experience with robust, high transaction volume financial systems and ledgers; strong analytical and organizational skills, accuracy and detail orientation; strong collaborative and communication skills; and be highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. The qualified candidate will have the ability to work independently, consistently and reliably meet established deadlines; and to read, interpret, and document financial transactions in compliance with city ordinances, state statutes, other regulatory laws and accounting principles.
SALARY RANGE: $71,353.15 – $108,909.20 annually, full-time
