Budget Management Analyst
Department: Finance & Accounting
Status: FLSA Exempt, Non-Union, Benefit Eligible, 40 hours/week
Salary: Grade 4NU FY27 $76,572 – $81,076.84 annually for steps 1-3 (salary range exceeds hiring range)
General Summary:
The town of Norwood seeks a detail-oriented professional to support Finance and Accounting operations through technical, analytical, and administrative work related to financial operations, budgeting, project coordination, and data analysis.
Essential Functions
- Reconcile financial records, accounts payable warrants, and cash disbursement journals.
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and track key initiatives and special projects.
- Lead and support cross-departmental projects using data analysis, benchmarking, and policy research.
- Assist with development of the annual financial plan, operating and capital budgets, and collective bargaining research.
- Prepare budget documents and assist with public presentations on financial matters.
- Represent the department at committee and departmental meetings.
- Support, maintain, troubleshoot, and provide user assistance for Tyler Munis software.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field and three-plus years of municipal/public sector experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of municipal finance, budgeting, and government operations.
- Experience developing budgets, financial reports, and spreadsheets.
- Strong judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency; Tyler Munis experience preferred.
