The town of Wayland seeks a qualified Department Assistant to join our team in our Building Department. This essential role provides complex administrative support to the Building Commissioner in processing applications for building permits, including the collection and processing of fees, and providing information on permitting processes to residents and the public. Responsibilities also include scheduling appointments for building inspections, processing payroll, accounts payable, maintaining records for the department, maintaining the department website, and assisting the Commissioner in annual budget development. Must have a high school diploma and three-plus years of administrative experience, preferably in municipal setting. Salary range: $31.65 to $39.73 per hour. Full-time 35 hours/week.
