CITY OF WORCESTER
The Department of Inspectional Services seeks applicants for Building Inspector to enforce MA building codes and city zoning ordinances, examining building plans to ensure compliance with state building code and requirements of State Architectural Access Board, NFPA fire protection systems, zoning, and other related laws, regulations, and standards. Work involves judgement in situations that demand immediate corrective action. Some evening work is required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education & experience; five years of experience in supervision of building construction; certified local building inspector or ability to become certified in 18 months of appointment; valid MA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
