The town of Salem, NH is accepting applications for the full-time position of Chief Assessor. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operations of the Assessor’s office including proper appraisal and assessing functions carried out in accordance with laws and ordinances. This is a department head position responsible for supervising personnel. Other responsibilities include strategic planning, budget administration, state reporting and interaction with the public.
Interested candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public administration or a closely related field supplemented by special courses in appraising; five years in municipal property assessment including two years of supervisory experience. In addition, Certified NH Municipal Assessor (C.N.H.A.) designation required or attainable within one year and NH Department of Revenue Certified Property Assessor Supervisor or ability to obtain within one year.
Starting salary: $74,530 annually. Closes May 17.
