The town of Wales seeks an experienced and proactive law enforcement professional to serve as their next Chief of Police. Appointed by the Board of Selectmen, the ideal candidate will be a seasoned law enforcement professional with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field; 10 years of progressively responsible police experience; five years in a command and supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional requirements include: certification as a police officer by the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Training Council, firearms certification, possession of a valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license and satisfactory completion of Incident Command System training levels 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 and G-775 within one calendar year of appointment.
