CITY OF BROCKTON
The city of Brockton seeks candidates for the position of City Auditor. The City Auditor leads and manages all operations and personnel in the city’s Auditing Department and provides the controllership and audit functions for the city and its departments and agencies. The mission of the Auditing Department is to protect the fiduciary interests of the city by providing independent, timely oversight of the city’s finances, utilizing sound accounting practices, and to ensure that the financial transactions are executed legally, efficiently, and effectively in accordance with the City Charter, City Ordinances, and Massachusetts General Laws.
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, management, public administration or a related discipline and at least seven years of experience in accounting, finance, business, management, or public administration or a related field. Massachusetts municipal experience and CPA preferred.
Salary range is $127,680 – $139,519 (4 Steps). By City Ordinance, applicants must be a resident of Brockton or agree to take residency within one year from date of hire.
