Job Description

The city of Cambridge is seeking a City Clerk, who serves as the official record keeper for the city. Appointed by and accountable to the City Council for a three-year term, the City Clerk performs the duties prescribed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the ordinances of the city of Cambridge, and any additional responsibilities assigned by the Cambridge City Council.

Minimum five years related experience (seven years preferred) with demonstrated leadership and personnel management. Previous experience working in municipal government and/or with a legislative body helpful. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education, training or experience. JD degree desirable.

RATE: $155,000 – $169,740 Annually
