The city of Hallowell, Maine is seeking qualified candidates for the position of City Manager. Located on the banks of the Kennebec River with a historic downtown, Hallowell is a dynamic full service community with a population of 2381 and a Mayor/City Council/Manager form of government. Hallowell has a gross municipal budget of $6.5 million and 17 FT/PT municipal employees.
The Council is seeking an individual with strong budget and financial management skills, experience in personnel management and labor relations, and experience in planning, growth management and economic development issues. Candidates should also possess excellent written and oral communication skills, proficiency with computer programs and technology, demonstrated leadership and the ability to interact and work with a diverse and active citizen base. Municipal management experience is preferred, but candidates with differing work experience are encouraged to apply. Salary negotiable, based on experience and training.
