The city of Gardner is seeking qualified candidates for the position of City Treasurer/Collector. This is a department head level position, under general oversight of the City Council, working collaboratively with the Executive department, and in accordance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts statutes and city ordinances, the City Treasurer/Collector is responsible for the reliable and timely implementation of services relating to the city of Gardner’s finances including: investments, borrowing, transferring funds, overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable for the city, making deposits, reconciling cash and accounts, directing the issuance of tax bills and collection of payments, developing and administering department budgets, policies and procedures and supervising staff.
