The town of Medway seeks qualified candidates for the full time position of Code Compliance Inspector, this position will start on or after July 1, 2019.
Duties: Under the direction of the Building Inspector, provides enforcement of the Medway zoning bylaws. Also serves as the Code Compliance Inspector for the town in the enforcement and implementation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Massachusetts Architectural Access Board Regulations.
Education and Experience: Must have an associate’s degree or Journeyman’s level of knowledge in building construction or a related trade field, and three to five years of compliance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of municipal zoning bylaws and/or ADA requirements enforcement strongly preferred. Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills and valid Class D Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Ability, and Skills: Must be highly organized, able to work independently and to interact effectively with other officials, agencies, and employees. Ability to use specialized software in support of departmental operations. Excellent data processing skills, including use of personal computers and office software including Microsoft Office and GIS; proficient skill in reading and interpreting maps and plans. Thorough knowledge of Medway Zoning Bylaws, GL C. 40A, The Massachusetts Zoning Act and 521 CMR Architectural Access Board Regulations.
