The town of Stoughton is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Code Enforcement Manager, a full-time position, Monday through Friday.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: administrative and inspection work related to the inspection of services in the town, including building, zoning, electrical, plumbing, gas, and for the enforcement and interpretation of state inspection codes, M.G.L. Chapter 40A, the local zoning bylaw, and other applicable regulations. Will investigate violations of various town codes, bylaws, ordinances and seek to obtain compliance.


A bachelor of arts degree in public administration, architecture, construction science, urban planning or other related field is preferred. Advanced technical training with a minimum of three years of experience in enforcing, writing or administering regulations, building codes, zoning ordinances, municipal codes required or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Building Inspector experience preferred but not required. Valid Massachusetts motor vehicle operator’s license with a good driving record. Must possess computer experience, communication and public relations skills. All applicants must be able to pass a criminal background/CORI check and pre-employment physical, including drug testing.

 Salary Range:  $65,000-$70,000.
