The city of Framingham seeks qualified candidates for the position of Commercial Appraiser/ Assistant Assessor. The Commercial Appraiser/ Assistant Assessor will be directly involved in all efforts to value all city property (with emphasis on Commercial/Industrial and Personal property); will assist in the defense of assessed values (BOA appeals & Appellate Tax Board); and will help improve related processes, valuation models, and record keeping.
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of five years of responsible experience in property analysis in commercial assessing or appraising. Massachusetts General Certified Real Estate Appraisal license required or similar state reciprocal license, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must obtain Massachusetts Accredited Assessor (MAA) designation within 36 months of hiring.
