Brockton, MA (96,000), seeks experienced, innovative and professional Commissioner of Public Works to lead and manage all operations and personnel in the DPW.  Including: Administration, Operations, Refuse, Engineering, Water and Sewer, and preparation of the Public Works budgets.  Responsible for directing and assigning personnel in accordance with CBA’s, civil service regulations and city ordinances; directing construction of DPW projects, including street reconstruction, infrastructure and treatment plant improvements, operations and maintenance; managing snow operations all the while reporting to the Mayor and working with the City Council, board and commissions, federal and state agencies as well as other outside agencies.

Located 25 miles south of Boston and 30 miles north of Providence, RI; 21.6 square miles with more than 335 miles of public and private roads.  The Commissioner leads a department of 106 personnel with an FY21 operating budget of approximately $61 mil.

Successful candidate will have a BA/BS with specialization in engineering; 10+ years of responsible experience with 5+ years in a supervisory position; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.  Residency required within the first year of employment unless waived by City Council.

Salary range to $145,500; DOQ.  EOE.
